Capped at 16 players, our experienced instructors are ​devoted to crafting the most comprehensive classes so ​your pickleball skills are significantly improved with ​an 8:1 Student to Pro ratio.

You will have the opportunity to train every morning ​from 8 to 10 am and every afternoon from 4 to 6 pm.

Also optional, but strongly recommended, are our ​daily 45 minute yoga classes where we focus on the ​muscle groups most used in the court and fascia release​ stretches to minimize recovery time. ​

Our concierge team (David, Tatiana & Mergie) ​would love to help arrange anything for your ​visit. From tours and activities, surf lessons, ​dancing classes or spa treatments. Anything ​you need, they will find the best options for ​you. Picture yourself in the Costa Rican jungle, ​on river boat tour, visiting the Volcano ​National Park, joining a snorkelling tour or ​trying your golf swing in our resort.

The Town of Tamarindo in Costa Rica, is a sun-kissed ​stretch of opulence and a playground for surfers and ​expats looking for tropical weather. Clear waters and ​sandy shores enchant many to the gated resort of ​Hacienda Pinilla where our accommodations are ​located.

We have secured the option of sharing a luxury beach ​themed home available for up to 8 people or beautiful ​private rooms at the JW Marriott Hotel at the Hacienda ​Pinilla resort.

With either option, you will have the most welcoming ​hospitality team ensuring that you have everything you ​need for our playful luxury holiday.

Day 1 - Let the games begin

We will arrange transportation to pick you up ​from the airport and arrive at the resort 1 hour ​and a half later. You will have time to settle into ​the rhythms of Pura Vida that Costa Rica is ​known for. Rendezvous for sunset drinks, delicio​us dinner & meeting your fellow picklers.

Day 2 - 3rd Shots & R​esets

Morning pickleball session (3rd Shots & Resets) ​followed by yoga or leisurely relaxation. Spend the ​early afternoon sitting by the pool or exploring the ​charm of our resort by foot, biking or horseback. ​Meet again for our first sunset session from 4-6 PM ​with a fun Olympics themed tournament.

Day 3 - S​erves and Returns

Get your endorphins flowing with the morning’s ​instructional pickleball clinic (Serves & Returns). ​Take the early afternoon to relax and come back ​ready to go for our bracket style, double ​elimination doubles tournament. In the evening, we ​will meet for a communal dinner of local delicacies.

Da​y 4 - Volleys & Dinking

Take in a beachside sunrise before heading to ​pickleball for a morning of Volleys & Dinking. ​Take the rest of the afternoon off to rest with spa ​treatments, a trip into town for shopping. If ​you’re still hungry for pickleball, schedule a game ​with your peers or private/semi-private lessons ​with one of our instructors.

Day 5 - Rolls, Flicks &

Swinging Volleys

We will meet again for morning pickleball with an ​emphasis on speedups at the Kitchen (Rolls, Flicks ​& Swinging Volleys) from 8-10AM. Hit a yoga ​stretch class at noon before coming back for a ​Kitchen Games style tournament where all points ​start with a feed at the kitchen.

Day 6 - Wild & Wacky Games

On our last day of pickleball paradise, the final ​tournament will run from 6PM and include games ​of mini-ball, wooden paddles and a final round ​robin format tournament using standard scoring & ​formats. We will head straight to our celebratory ​and final dinner featuring prizes from leading ​pickleball brands.

What's included in the package?

Our upcoming pickleball trip to Hacienda Pinilla in Costa Rica, April 22-29, offers 2 tiers depending on ​your choice of accommodation:

The 4 bedroom Luxury Villa is $4690/person while the JW Marriott hotel option is $5,390/person.

This investment covers world-class pickleball instruction (2 sessions per day), accommodation, breakfasts , ​snacks and drinks during instruction times, private transportation to and from the airport on April 22nd ​and the 29th, and three communal dinners prepared by local chefs and hosted at our private villa.

Airfare, excursions and cultural activities, lunches and dinners outside of the three joint ones are not ​included, giving you the flexibility to indulge in the Costa Rica culinary scene at your own pace.

What Are my options for accommodation?

Share one of the luxury accommodations within the resort or stay at the award winning JW Marriott ​Hotel all of them within Hacienda Pinilla. If you have a group that you want to travel with, the Luxury ​Villa is a 4 bedroom/4 bathrooms with state of the art indoor and outdoor kitchens equipped with all ​brand new appliances, huge open living room, swimming pool and garage within the exclusive gated ​community of Hacienda Pinilla.

With both options you also get access to the Beach Club Playa Avellanas.

The beach club has a beachfront infinity pool surrounded by sunbeds and thatched umbrellas, a tiki bar ​and open-air restaurant with excellent food. There is a Gym, massages room, soccer and volleyball courts ​and one of the best waves in the country with a lifeguard on duty from sunup to sundown.

Can I bring someone who will not take part in ​the pickleball instruction?

Sure thing! After pickleball instruction, our days will be spent enjoying the facilities of the resort with our ​daily yoga classes and other activities such as golfing, surfing and horseback riding on the beach. You will ​also have time to explore the region and find a rich tapestry of culture, or simply sit back at the Beach ​Club with an ice cold rosé while watching the surfers at “Little Hawaii”. As long as your travel companion ​is happy to do their thing during instruction times and then join us for other planned activities, we're not ​stopping you!

What skill level is this designed for?

Our program is designed for players in the 3.0 and 4.0 skill range but anyone with a great learning attitude ​is welcome to join us - except for complete newbies - to ensure everyone can keep up. Our coaches will ​help you improve, no matter your starting point.

Our groups are capped at 16 players for a personalized experience and our Head of Operations PJ ​Reinemann excels at simplifying the way the game is taught so you improve technique and strategy. And ​you’ll do it will having the time of your life.

What’s the best way to plan my trip?

First, decide what kind of accommodation you will want. If you are traveling with other friends, we ​suggest that you opt for the shared villa that sleeps up to 8 people. If you would rather have a more ​intimate experience, the JW Marriott private room will be the best option.

Once you make the deposit with us, go ahead and book your flight to Liberia Airport for the starting and ​ending dates provided. We also recommend that you get comprehensive Travel Insurance covering any ​medical costs that might arise. And make sure you have a valid passport!

Can you help me organize other activities ​during my stay?

Absolutely! We can direct you to our concierge team that can help you plan and book any of the following ​activities: Jungle and river boat tours, visit to the Volcano National Park “Rincon de la Vieja”, surfing ​lessons, snorkelling tours, scuba diving, golf and fishing trips.

Our properties in Hacienda Pinilla are the best home base for a surf or golf adventure.

Hacienda Pinilla is home to 10 different world-class surf breaks all here within the 4500 acres that make ​up the community. We are also fortunate to have an incredible golf course right on site and our concierge ​team will be happy to arrange a visit for you.

What if I need to cancel?

We understand that sometimes life takes an unexpected turn and you might not be able to participate. We ​are happy to provide the following refund policy for the full package except for the $600 non refundable ​deposit:

Cancellations 60 days before departure have a 40% refund, 30 days for a 20% refund, 10 days for a 10% ​refund. Cancellations under 10 days before departure date are non-refundable.

We reserve the right to cancel or postpone a trip if we do not get the minimum of 8 players required. If ​this is the case, you will get a 100 % refund within 24 hours of being notified of the cancellation including ​the $600 deposit.

We will notify you by March 31st if we did not reach the minimum of 8 players and will refund your $600 ​deposit within 24 hours.
